Leprechaun: In the Hood (2000)

Leprechaun in the Hood is one of the worst movies in the genre. It has a small budget, a bad storyline with a lot of annoying stereotypes, and a few characters who are portrayed in a very bad way (most notably Fontaine). Even though this is the case, it still shows an almost unbelievable amount of heart.

They even exceed the Leprechaun himself in this edition, which is saying a lot given that the Leprechaun smokes cannabis with Ice-T. Postmaster P (Anthony Montgomery), Stray Bullet (Rashaan Nall), and Butch (Red Grant) are by far the best characters in the series.

Their friendship is non-toxic since they freely show their love and understanding. Despite the fact that they are all strong, endearing people who can stand alone.

This is largely owing to the impressive work of Montgomery, Nall, and Grant (a genuine rarity in this franchise). I'd definitely be interested in watching a film about their existence as struggling artists.

They don't detract from the Leprechaun series' typical antics with their eager desire to succeed as performers; rather, it adds some much-needed depth to the typically flat characters.
The best sequences in the movie are when the boys are trying to get themselves together and hold onto their goal.

The fact that they have the funniest scenes is even more (first post) shocking. This time around, they were far more successful in making me laugh than Leprechaun was, owing to Butch's dance in the church, a clearly fake Hendrix instrument, and a true Scooby-Doo reference.

Since Leprechaun: The Hood is often of such bad quality, it comes as no surprise.

Butch, Stray Bullet, and Postmaster P have a lot to offer as characters, which is unexpected. Yes, they are restricted by the film they unhappily star in, but they all give wonderfully sincere and moving performances throughout, ending in the only terrible deaths in the series.

Even while Leprechaun 5 isn't very valuable, by Leprechaun standards, it's a diamond in the rough!
